This is my first entry after two years of not uploading any post in my blog. Since my blog is quite old, so I have decided to change certain things including the layout of my blog. Back then, I used my blog to express or convey my thoughts or feelings, more or less it acted as my personal diary.
In this post, I will be sharing about The Evolution of CALL. In my previous post, I have shared about what is CALL and the types of them. CALL has been undergone evolution and it is divided into three which are Behaviouristic CALL, Communicative CALL, and Integrated CALL. Behaviouristic CALL is primarily used for Audio-Lingual method and it involves repetitive drilling and practice. The computer is seen as the ultimate aid for teachers in perfecting pronunciation and drill practice. It is aimed to transfer textbooks and worksheets to computer based application. Example of Behaviouristic CALL is The Stanford Model in 1960. The students were required to answer questions by using a teletype coordinated with a tape recorder and answered by listening to the questions and the answers were typed. Later on, the answers would be compared to the answer scheme. Communicative CALL was developed during 1970s to 1980. It focused more on the usage of language rather than perfect grammar. It also ...
